Vic Mastis

Nature Revisited

Through her camping and hiking experience, Mastis has came upon some unexpected scenes with wildflowers growing in unusual places. This series was painted to create that feeling of walking along a windy path and seeing a surprise of a stream, a lake or plat of flowers growing in the rocks. It brings that sense of wonder that there is something higher than ourselves guiding us and the universe. Interpretation can also have a double meaning of ourselves growing out of experiences we have no idea they would help shape our being.

Vic Mastis is the former owner of Green Door art gallery in Webster Groves, MO. In 1998, she started Gateway Pastel Artists. She is a Signature member of MidAmerica Pastel Society, Arkansas Pastel Society and Missouri Valley Impressionist Society. Her work has been in the Edward Hopper House, Nyack, New York, Fort Walton Museum in Florida and many other venues.
