Sissy Blakslee

Sissy Blakslee grew up in Warrenton, OR where the mouth of the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean meet. Sights and sounds of seagulls, crashing waves, and fishing boats were everyday occurrences. After marrying and moving to Wisconsin, she began painting creative designs on cheese boxes and selling them at art fairs throughout WI and IL. When FL became home in 2003, beautiful water birds, beaches, and landscapes became the subject of her oil paintings. To preserve a memory or tell a story, she enjoys the discipline of still life with flowers, glassware, and occasionally an old piece of Royal Copley pottery that she has collected throughout the years. Her paintings have been displayed and collected by many and have received recognition and awards from each of the art leagues she has been associated with. She is a past member of the Pine Island Art Association, the Bonita Art League in Bonita, FL, and the Alliance for the Arts in Ft. Myers, FL. After moving to Branson in 2020 her focus has turned to Branson scenes, as well as, a Branson souvenir poster painting which features popular tourist destinations and historical places, such as The Shepherd of the Hills.
