Mike Wallace

I was born in Marion, Ohio. From an early age I knew that art was going to be a major part of my life. But while I was developing my art style and technique over the years, I chose to be self-employed in a variety of businesses. I owned two restaurants, obtained multiple pilot licenses (commercial fixed wing & helicopter instructor) and was a helicopter ground school instructor. I also co-owned two family fishing lodges in Canada. Along with the second lodge, I owned a fly-in business. Most of my artwork was done in the mediums of graphics or soft pastel. In 2015, I finished my first oil painting and have preferred this medium since because of the level of detail I am able to accomplish with them. Now that I am retired I am able to devote more time to painting. With each picture I strive to include more detail and obtain more realism. Needless to say, I didn’t have time to attend college or university to study art. Everything I do is a God given, self-taught ability. I love using my art to make people smile when they receive their print or commissioned work.
